BY THE BREAKWATER
On a bustling summer day in Brighton, the city's iconic pier and vibrant beachfront were teeming with life.
Seeking a quieter space, I wandered towards the marina, where the city’s energy gradually faded, giving way to a more peaceful and understated side of Brighton. A small collection of images captured during a brief, yet immersive visit to this tranquil corner of the shore. Away from the crowded attractions, this part of Brighton offers a stark contrast—a place where time seems to slow down and the hum of the city is replaced by the gentle lapping of waves against the breakwater.
For a few hours, I observed and documented the simple, serene moments of this quieter spot. Here, locals found solace in fishing or simply enjoying the peace that the less-travelled shore provides. This project reflects the calm and introspection that can be found just a short distance from the city's more frequented spots. In this place, the rush of summer gives way to moments of quiet contemplation, offering a glimpse of the hidden beauty in this often-overlooked part of the city.
